Everton submit opening bid to beat Liverpool to sign "explosive" 20 y/o ace

As David Moyes sets his sights on a summer overhaul at the club, Everton have now reportedly submitted an opening bid to beat rivals Liverpool to an exciting target.

Moyes aiming for Everton overhaul

Speaking at a Men in Blazers event in New York, Moyes revealed that he still wants nine or 10 fresh faces at Everton this summer, despite already welcoming Thierno Barry, Mark Travers and Carlos Alcaraz on a permanent deal.

This follows reports that The Friedkin Group are in a position to spend as much as £150m this summer if they please and have set their sights on a number of targets as a result.

Among those targets is Bayern Munich left-back Adam Aznou. According to fresh reports, the Toffees have now agreed a deal worth around £10m and the teenager is set to undergo a medical at the club.

Likely to become Everton’s fourth signing of the summer, Aznou will push Vitaliy Mykolenko all the way for a starting place and perhaps even force himself into Moyes’ strongest side.

But those at the Hill Dickinson Stadium are unlikely to be done there. The Friedkin Group are out to make a statement and, as such, the likes of James McAtee are still on what is an extensive summer shortlist.

James McAtee for Manchester City.

The Manchester City starlet often found his game time limited last season even as Pep Guardiola’s side faltered for the first time in four seasons. Now, the midfielder looks likely to be on the move in search of the minutes he so desperately craved.

It’s worth pointing out that, even as he failed to work his way into Guardiola’s starting plans, the City boss was often still full of praise – describing him as “special” following a hat-trick against Salford City.

Special players seems to be the memo in Merseyside this summer too, with Everton now also reportedly in talks to sign an impressive winger.

Everton submit opening Fofana offer

According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton have now submitted an opening offer to sign Malick Fofana from Lyon this summer, with talks at an “advanced” stage.

The talented winger has attracted interest from several sides this summer, including from Liverpool, who were reportedly preparing an offer, but it is the Toffees who are now advancing.

Following underwhelming performances from loanees Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom, Moyes reportedly earmarked the need for a new, more dangerous winger before Everton turned towards Fofana to offer them exactly that.

In a season that saw him score 11 goals and create six more in all competitions last season, the Belgian earned the praise of analyst Ben Mattinson, who was left in awe of his “explosive” running ability down Lyon’s left-hand side.

Now, it’s Everton who could be about to benefit from that ability and so much more as they push to land another major upgrade this summer.

Isidor upgrade: Sunderland could land £23m star who's "similar to Haaland"

Sunderland supporters are now strapped in for the 38-game ride of the brand-new Premier League season.

There will be many ups and downs to come on the unforgiving top-flight rollercoaster, but nothing can take away from the fact that Regis Le Bris’ Black Cats managed to comfortably cruise to a 3-0 opening day win over a dejected West Ham United side.

Wilson Isidor will be hopeful he can write himself into Sunderland folklore, too, by being the hero who fired home the goals to keep the Black Cats afloat in such a gruelling league.

Isidor's heroics for Sunderland

He has already proven himself to be a goalscoring favourite to the die-hard Wearside masses.

Indeed, the French striker would bag a respectable 13 goals last season across 46 Championship appearances, which included Isidor firing home the opening goal in Sunderland’s first leg clash against Coventry City in the playoff semi-finals.

He popped up with another memorable effort against Graham Potter’s visitors, as well, as his late effort secured the resounding three points.

However, it will be about maintaining this clinical edge across the full season to come, with Isidor also prone to a goal-shy appearance or two.

When examining that output in the second tier in more detail, it’s clear that the former Zenit St. Petersburg man can be wasteful, as seen in him squandering 20 big chances last season, as per Sofascore.

Sunderland's Wilson Isidor

If he is displaying the same carelessness in front of goal in the top-flight down the line, Le Bris’ men could well be in danger of suffering an instant relegation.

Therefore, it’s no great shock to see that the Black Cats are going after some fresh, clinical targets up top, which includes a major Isidor upgrade potentially joining the camp.

Sunderland could land major upgrade on Isidor

Isidor will already be worrying about competing with Marc Guiu as the young, Chelsea hotshot attempts to make a name for himself on Wearside on a season-long loan deal.

He would be even more anxiety-ridden about his chances at being Sunderland’s main marksman moving forward if AS Roma ace Artem Dovbyk were to join the building.

Indeed, as per reports from Italy earlier this week, Le Bris’ men and Leeds United are now locked into a battle to win the Ukrainian’s services, who is reportedly available for a fee around the £23m mark.

This feels as if it would be a steal, therefore, for a lavish Sunderland side unafraid to splash the cash, especially when you consider Dovbyk’s recent goalscoring exploits in both Serie A and La Liga.

While the 28-year-old did come up short last season in Serie A next to Isidor’s numbers, with one less strike to his name than his French counterpart, it’s his blistering form when he was on the books of Girona that will have really caught Sunderland’s attention.

Dovbyk would close off his breakout 2023/24 campaign in Spain with a deadly 24 strikes picked up from 36 clashes, coming in at an average of a strike every 109 minutes for the Catalonia-based outfit.

Isidor, on the contrary, doesn’t have such a glittering track record in the top divisions he’s called home – away from already breaking his Premier League duck – with zero goals in the senior ranks at AS Monaco, on top of only finding the back of the net a meagre four times, lining up for Zenit.

Amazingly, the 6-foot-2 forward’s ice-cold nature in front of goal has even seen him be dubbed as “similar to [Erling] Haaland” by ex-Serie A great Mario Balotelli, alongside being hailed as “elite” by journalist Zach Lowy.

Isidor had his own moments of magic for Sunderland as the Black Cats triumphantly returned to the big time.

But Le Bris will know he can’t turn down opportunities such as these to land a major upgrade on his number 18, as Dovbyk prepares to be the spark that guides the underdogs to a comfortable Premier League finish.

Crystal Palace hold strong interest in "talented" £9m goal-scoring defender

Crystal Palace now hold a strong interest in signing a “talented” goal-scoring defender, and they could be set to battle a fellow UEFA Conference League club for his signature, according to a report.

Palace demoted to Conference League after unsuccessful appeal

It should be a time of celebration for Palace, having recently won the Community Shield for the first time, but UEFA’s recent verdict has certainly dampened the mood somewhat, and a strong statement has been issued in response.

“It appears that certain clubs, organisations and individuals have a unique privilege and power.

“This growing and unhealthy influence has shattered the hopes and dreams of Crystal Palace supporters, and does not bode well for aspirational teams all over Europe competing to progress when rules and sanctions are unevenly applied in the most flagrant way.”

The Eagles have now set their sights on a Champions League player.

ByDominic Lund Aug 13, 2025

Not only is being denied the right to compete in the Europa League a blow for the supporters, who would have been dreaming about trips to some of Europe’s biggest clubs, but it could also have an impact on the Eagles’ summer transfer plans.

Playing in the more prestigious Europa League is a more attractive proposition for potential new signings, and Oliver Glasner’s side may need to bring in a few new arrivals before the end of the month, given the doubts over Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi’s futures.

Crystal Palace'sMarcGuehilooks dejected after Newcastle United's Harvey Barnes scores their third goal

Should Eze and their captain move on, it will be vital for Crystal Palace to bring in a new attacking midfielder and centre-back, but they are also keen to bolster their options at right-back.

That is according to a report from Italy, which states Crystal Palace now hold strong interest in signing Cagliari defender Nadir Zortea, but there may be competition for his signature, with Fiorentina also keen.

Should the Italian club successfully navigate their Conference League play-off match, they could be one of the Eagles’ opponents next season, and they are also set to do battle over the signature of Zortea, with a deal potentially set to amount to at least €10m (£9m).

"Talented" Zortea could be solid Munoz alternative

Daniel Munoz was a vital player for Glasner last season, with the right-back proving himself as a real threat on the front foot by picking up four goals and six assists in the Premier League.

As Palace are set to embark on a European campaign, they will need to strengthen their squad depth, and they may want to bring in a new right-back in a similar mould to Munoz, with the Cagliari defender fitting the bill.

Much like the 29-year-old, Zortea is impressive going forward, and displayed a keen eye for goal in the Serie A last season, finding the back of the net six times in 35 outings.

Having also been lauded as “talented” by football talent scout Jacek Kulig, the Italian could be the ideal option to come in and provide competition for Munoz’s starting spot.

Cristiano Ronaldo hits out at those who criticized Portugal teammate's switch to Saudi Arabia

Cristiano Ronaldo has slammed critics who questioned Joao Felix’s decision to join Al-Nassr, branding them 'idiots' after a Portuguese podcast mocked the forward’s move. Felix left Chelsea this summer for Saudi Arabia in a £26 million deal and has already impressed. Ronaldo, who has been central to Al-Nassr’s project, leapt to his team-mate’s defence on social media.

Felix makes Saudi move after failing to impress in Europe

Felix’s decision to leave Europe at a relatively young age raised eyebrows, especially after turbulent spells with Chelsea, AC Milan, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid on the back of his rise to fame at Porto. The forward has since hit the ground running in Saudi Arabia, contributing goals three goals and an assist in his first few games. But comments made on the popular podcast Chuveirinho triggered Ronaldo to publicly fire back at detractors.

“Idiots don't understand anything about football, yet they still give their opinions,” Ronaldo wrote on Instagram in response to criticism of Felix. The post, which included crying emojis, has since been deleted. Ronaldo is also said to have played a key role in convincing Felix to join Al-Nassr, with Felix himself admitting: “He was one of the first to talk to me about coming here, and when he talked to me, I felt a wonderful moment and a beautiful feeling, and that helped convince me.”

Ronaldo improving the level of Saudi football

Ronaldo has been instrumental in raising the profile of Saudi football since his own high-profile switch in 2022. His backing of Felix highlights how top stars are now actively recruiting each other to the league. For Al-Nassr, the Portuguese duo’s partnership has provided a strong platform as they continue their flawless start to the season.

Carrington star likened to Yamal could now leave Man Utd, he wanted to stay

Manchester United are striving to finish the transfer window in strong fashion, though they may face a difficult question to answer regarding one of their finest academy graduates.

Manchester United miss chance to see off Fulham

Ruben Amorim will need to wait a little longer for his first victory of the Premier League season after Manchester United missed the chance to see off Fulham at Craven Cottage last Sunday.

Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty that would’ve put his side in the ascendancy before Emile Smith-Rowe cancelled out Leny Yoro’s opener to leave the Red Devils with a point from their first two top-flight matches.

In the face of an underwhelming start, Wayne Rooney has indicated that Amorim has pressure on his shoulders if he is to become a successful manager at Old Trafford, claiming results need to occur sooner rather than later.

He stated on the Wayne Rooney Show: “There are no excuses now for the manager this season. He’s got to start getting results and getting results quickly because once you start getting into October, November, if results don’t change drastically then that’s when pressure comes. United really needed to hit the ground running this season and one point from six is a worry.”

Senne Lammens could be on his way to Manchester United from Royal Antwerp to alleviate pressure on Andre Onana between the sticks. Meanwhile, Adam Wharton may swap Crystal Palace for the Red Devils to fill the vacant hole in their midfield.

Nevertheless, sales will be needed to sanction more incomings, and Amorim now faces an intriguing question involving a member of his first-team squad who could now be set for the exit door.

Kobbie Mainoo could leave Manchester United

According to talkSPORT, Kobbie Mainoo would consider a Manchester United exit before the window shuts after being an unused substitute in their first two Premier League matches against Arsenal and Fulham, having previously wanted to sign a new deal.

The England international has been told to fight for his place by Amorim, who stated in his post-match press conference: “He’s fighting for the position now with Bruno. I let Mason Mount (play) there because we want to score a goal, and when I changed, I felt the team needed to return to one holding midfielder near Bruno.”

Manchester United could be about to make a move for another big-money signing this summer.

ByEthan Lamb Aug 24, 2025

Beaten to the 2024 Golden Boy award by Lamine Yamal, they both enjoyed breakthrough campaigns at last summer’s European Championships and Mainoo found himself in the top-five ranking for best teenagers in world football via the CIES Football Observatory, alongside the Spain international.

Last season, Mainoo scored twice and claimed an assist in 37 appearances across all competitions, albeit he did struggle to replicate his exploits in 2023/24, where he struck on five occasions.

Amorim doesn’t seem to have the Carrington graduate at the forefront of his mind, though it remains to be seen what interest could arise for his services in the final stretch of the window.

Man Utd and INEOS now want £60m+ deal to sign Palmer-like star after Sesko

Manchester United are working on a proposal that could reach £60m+ to sign a Cole Palmer-like star after Benjamin Sesko.

Leipzig star Sesko chooses Man Utd move over Newcastle

The Red Devils have already splashed the cash this summer with deals for Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, but they are now set to go one better with a move for Sesko.

The towering RB Leipzig striker has chosen to join Man Utd over Premier League rivals Newcastle United and looks set to become INEOS’ most expensive addition of the summer.

Sesko has agreed to a five-year deal at Old Trafford, with United’s opening offer to the Bundesliga side being worth just under £74m.

A proposed move to Manchester has raised some concerns from Sir Alex Ferguson’s former assistant Rene Meulensteen, who drew comparisons to Rasmus Hojlund.

“If he scores in the first three or four games and hits the ground running then he could be the answer for the club, but there’s a chance that won’t happen.

“If you look at Hojlund, he joined Atalanta and performed well alongside the rest of the team and then joined United. The same can be said for Sesko – the Bundesliga is a very different league to the Premier League, so he’ll need to adapt.

“Has Sesko got potential? 100%, but he’s still young and developing and he isn’t the finished article.”

Sesko, Cunha and Mbeumo may well be Amorim’s first-choice front three for the opening day clash with Arsenal at Old Trafford, but by the looks of it, INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe aren’t stopping with the Slovenia international.

Man Utd and INEOS going all out for £60m+ Fermin Lopez

According to a report from Spain, Man Utd are now ‘going all out’ to sign Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez. It is claimed that those on the board at Old Trafford are ‘working on a proposal’ that could hit €70m (£60.1m).

However, it is added that Barcelona ‘doesn’t want to lose one of the most promising players to emerge from its youth system in recent years’, but may need to raise funds through player sales.

Therefore, Man Utd are ‘confident that their sporting project and the possibility of offering him a leading role will entice’ Lopez.

At the age of 22, Lopez is going from strength to strength with the Catalan giants and is now valued at a career-high €50m by Transfermarkt.

Capable of playing as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder or left-winger, Lopez is under contract at the Nou Camp until 2029. In total, the Spain international has made 88 senior appearances for Barcelona, scoring 19 goals and providing 11 assists during that time.

Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand has also been impressed with what he’s seen from Lopez, comparing the Barca man to Chelsea star Cole Palmer.

Gianluigi Donnarumma reveals 'incredible' bromance with Erling Haaland after new goalkeeper was 'immediately welcomed' at Man City by prolific striker

Gianluigi Donnarumma has paid tribute to "fantastic" Erling Haaland, revealing he has already built a strong relationship with his new Manchester City team-mate. The goalkeeper moved to City from Paris Saint-Germain in a £26 million (€30m/$35m) deal on transfer deadline day, replacing long-term No. 1 Ederson after the Brazil international joined Fenerbahce.

  • Donnarumma's dream debut with clean sheet against Man Utd

Donnarumma made the perfect start at City after keeping a clean sheet on his Premier League debut in the 3-0 win over rivals Manchester United on Sunday. The Italy international made an excellent save to deny Bryan Mbeumo in the second half and was immediately embraced by Haaland, whose second-half double helped seal the victory for Pep Guardiola's side.

New signing thanks Haaland for helping him adapt to life at City

And now Donnarumma has opened up about the close relationship he and Haaland have been quick to forge, hailing the Norway international for playing a huge role in making him feel like he has been part of the City squad for "many years".

  • A new bromance: What Donnarumma had to say about Haaland

Speaking ahead of City's Champions League opener against Napoli on Thursday, Donnarumma said of Haaland: “Aside from being a fantastic player, one of the best in the world if not the best, he’s a fantastic person as well. That’s what makes him even better in a way, and I have an incredible relationship with him, he immediately welcomed me."

The instant bond between Donnarumma and his new City team-mates completes a major turnaround in fortunes after the shot-stopper was frozen out at PSG this summer. Same agent as Barry: Everton reach big-money agreement to sign "brave" gem

In a late transfer twist, Everton have now reportedly reached an agreement to sign one of their top targets in a big-money deal just under two weeks until the deadline.

Moyes "excited" about Hill Dickinson debut

Whilst his side’s opening day defeat at the hands of newly-promoted Leeds United left a bad taste, Everton boss David Moyes has quickly put that behind him to focus on what should be a special afternoon at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Squaring off against Brighton & Hove Albion in their first Premier League game in their new home, the Toffees will be keen to enjoy the occasion and pick up their first three points of the season.

There could also be a full debut for summer signing Jack Grealish after he came from the bench on Monday night at Elland Road. The Manchester City loanee, in a World Cup year, desperately needs to get back to his best and chose a move to Everton with that in mind.

Better move than Grealish: Everton open talks to land Premier League star

Everton are interested in a deal to sign a star who could be even better than Jack Grealish.

ByWill Miller Aug 23, 2025

Alongside Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Thierno Barry, Adam Aznou, Carlos Alcaraz, Mark Travers and Tom King, Grealish represents a very solid summer of business from Everton. But The Friedkin Group are not done just yet and reports are now suggesting that their biggest move yet has been agreed.

Everton reach agreement to sign Dibling

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Everton have now reached an agreement to sign Tyler Dibling in a deal worth as much as £42m. The Toffees looked destined to miss out on the Southampton winger when they failed to match the Saints’ price tag earlier this summer, before those at St Mary’s lowered their valuation and allowed Everton to swoop in.

With Dibling, Moyes’ attacking options have suddenly been transformed compared to last season. From Jack Harrison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jesper Lindstrom, the veteran manager will now have a core of Grealish, Dewsbury-Hall, Dibling and Barry at his disposal.

Described as “brave” by former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy, the best is still yet to come from 19-year-old Dibling, who is represented by the same agent as fellow Everton arrival Barry.

In a new era in a modern stadium, Friedkin have so far handed Moyes the tools to take Everton from relegation candidates into top-half hopefuls.
